Microsoft released 13 patches containing fixes for 26 vulnerabilities in their Windows and Office products on Tuesday, February 9th. Of the patches, 5 are rated Critical, 7 are listed as Important, and 1 Moderate. Bugs fixed include holes in the SMB Client, ActiveX, Windows Shell Handler, Windows TCP/IP, and Microsoft DirectShow.

Business and home users alike should be sure to run Windows Update to grab the patches as soon as possible to avoid risk of infection and to help prevent remote code execution that may lead to theft of personal data.
